‘For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.’ Matthew 18:20
The church is built on a sloping site overlooking the High Street and the River Leven. Consequently there are a number of different levels internally. There is level access to the youth hall from the top of chapel steps meaning that this area is accessible from Linden Road and Addison Road for people using wheelchairs, electric buggies and for children’s prams and pushchairs.
From the High Street, as well as the main front door which is at the top of a sloped pathway there is a more accessible ramped route to an electronic door that is accessible to wheelchair uses and those with prams or buggies. Once through this door a lift is available to the church’s main level. Two wheelchairs are available to assist accessing the building from street level. The youth hall is on two levels with a steps between the two. There is a lift to connect these two areas if necessary. For the deaf or hard of hearing the church is fitted with a ‘loop’ system. To use this people should adjust their hearing aids to the ‘T’ position.
An accessible toilet with baby change is situated off the church foyer on the main level.
The church sanctuary area is carpeted and has Individual movable chairs. This makes it a flexible space for a range of different worship styles and other events and activities. The church has an organ which is lovingly maintained and a piano is also available.
The church is fitted with sound system that enables the use of wired and wireless microphones and inputs for a wide range of musical instruments. A mixer desk and amplification allows the production and recording of music for worship and other events. The church uses ‘ProPresenter 6′ to allow the projection of song and hymn words, bible readings, video, music and notices onto a large screen. The church has a full set of ‘Hymns and Psalms’ a book of hymns used in the Methodist Church. Also available are large print, and music editions and also a Songbook.
Bibles (New International Version) are also available for use within the services.
The church has Church Copyright Licence.
The youth hall is split over two levels. Seating and tables are available to enable this area to seat around 80 people if necessary. It is a flexible area with a small carpeted area with comfortable seating near the front window which gives excellent views over the River Leven and the Cleveland Hills. The main toilets are accessed from the ‘youth hall’ area.
The kitchen is fully fitted with fridge/freezer, double oven with 6 hobs, a microwave and commercial dishwasher. There is also a wide range of cooking utensils.
