About Us

Where are we?

The village and location of the church can be viewed from links on the Great Ayton page.

Church Vision

Together, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we will have confidence, excitement and freedom in Jesus Christ to glorify God through worship, faith and service.

This will be achieved through corporate worship, evangelism and teaching for all ages, pastoral care, outreach and social responsibility, social activities and fundraising. These themes form the basis of the 'portfolios' around which the church is managed.

Leadership Team meeting

We have a monthly meeting of the Leadership team which comprises the Minister, the Pastoral Secretary, the Church Treasurer, the Team secretary and well as the Church Stewards, who each also lead a portfolio.

Here we deal with items of business, mission and management of the church. We deal with issues as instructed by the Church Council and steer new ventures and projects. We do research on behalf of the Church Council as well as support the Stewards in the work of their portfolio.

Church Council

The Church Council meets 3 times each year. Stewards, elected members of the congregation and representatives of all aspects of Church Life are included.

This is the official meeting of the Church with voting powers and appoints other officers and representatives (see below). Although it is not onerous, it is vital to Church Growth and Development that all council members give this utmost priority in their diaries.

General Church Meeting

Held annually in March, the whole membership of the Church reviews the previous year’s work and appoints Stewards and representatives to Church Council. A Church Meal is also included.

Meeting Schedule

A full schedule of meeting for the current year can be found in the Meeting Programme.

Our connection with Methodism

All Methodists belong to the Methodist Connexion.

The Connexion is split geographically into 'districts'. We belong to the Darlington District.

Each district is divided into a number of 'circuits'. We belong to the Stokesley Circuit which covers an area from Easby in the east to Ingleby Arncliffe in the west and Seamer in the north to Chop Gate in the south.

Church Project

Each year the church nominates areas of need it is going to support through fund raising and education.
