Safeguarding

‘For I know the plans I have for you’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’. (Jeremiah 29 v11)

The church makes every effort to safeguard the welfare of children and vulnerable adults involved in worship and all church-based activities both on and off our premises. We aim to make church a safe and accepting place for all people.

Church leaders and all people working with children, or vulnerable adults are trained in safeguarding matters and DBS checked.

Great Ayton Methodist Church’s Safeguarding Policy can be viewed here.

If you have any concerns that a child or a vulnerable adult might be at risk or being harmed you should contact one of the people below immediately. Nothing in the policy prevents an individual contacting the local authority or the police if they consider someone is at risk or is subject to harm.
